In my essay, I’m going to use images of charts to display how anxiety levels decrease using art therapy. The charts will support the positive usage of art within science. I can use images of models used in the sciences to help elaborate ideas and new solutions to issues. I’m going to use different font styles to emphasise my points. I decided to just go with images that show what’s going on in a person’s head when they’re anxious. I decided to go with both very colorful and vibrant images, but also a black and white image that really expresses the ideas of experiencing anxiety. Along with the images, I chose to add in a TEDTalk that demonstrates the abilities of art on the human mind. By using the images and the video, I really wanted to connect visuals to the ideas of mental health in science and using art to help treat it, particularly anxiety. The title of my essay also uses a different color for the word “art” because I wanted it to stand out to the reader. I also wanted specific parts to stand out. The authors’ names are in red the first time they’re mentioned, quotes are in this light pink color and phrases that I really wanted to stand out are in this greenish blue color. I chose to make specific things stand out in order to help add some contrast to my essay.
